Things got out of hand at the Miami-Virginia Tech game on Saturday night and it culminated in a police officer punching a female in the face after she slapped him.
In a video going viral online, a female Miami fan is seen being carried out of the stadium by about four police officers. In the midst of the disturbance, the female slaps one of the police officers who was escorting her out of the seating area and the officer immediately retaliated with a blow of his own.
Police have charged the woman, a 30-year-old nurse, with felony battery on a police officer for slapping a detective at a University of Miami football game. Police said Bridget Freitas slapped an officer while being carried out during Miami’s win Saturday over Virginia Tech at Hard Rock Stadium.
Miami-Dade Police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said in an email Sunday that the department is examining the video to make sure proper procedures were followed.
