The Premier League resumed Friday night as week nine kicked off at the London Stadium as the Hammers played host to newly promoted side Brighton. But it wouldn't be a night to remember for Bilic as the Seagulls ran out 3-nil winners on Friday night.
Manchester City moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League as second-placed Manchester United's unbeaten run surprisingly ended at Huddersfield Town. The Red Devils were punished for some sloppy defending while Chelsea were able to come from 2-1 down to win 4-2 against Watford.
Super Sunday did not disappoint as Gunners bounced back with an emphatic 5-2 win over Everton while Harry Kane was the star as he grabbed a double against Liverpool at Wembley. With not much ado, here are the things we learnt from the Premier League this weekend.
Trouble At Merseyside
Everton and Liverpool are Merseyside's representatives in the league and both clubs are having a horrible time in the league as well. The two clubs are struggling to get wins and their performances against Arsenal and Tottenham respectively should be a cause for concern with those associated with the area.
Everton have lost six out of their last 10 games in all competitions winning just two while Liverpool- who put on a show in midweek- have also just won two in their last 10 competitive fixtures. Both managers Ronald Koeman and Jurgen Klopp are feeling the pressure and it would not be too long before one of them gets the sack.
Arsenal Show Class
Arsenal were a joy to watch with their sleek passes and touches around the Everton box. The Gunners might have had a shaky start after conceding an early opener but Nacho Monreal's equalizer settled their nerves and Arsenal rolled back the years to thump Everton 5-2.
Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Alexandre Lacazette who were all starting togther for the first time all got on the scoresheet and had beautiful all round play. All three got on the scoresheet and it could have been more if not for Jordan Pickford keeping the scoreline, err, respectable?
Lindelof Not Ready For EPL
Man Utd fans must have wondered what they have gotten themselves into or wished they had seen the unedited clips of Victor Lindelof on Youtube. The Swedish defender had a torrid time against Huddersfield and justified Mourinho's statements when the Portuguese said the former Benfica man was not ready for the EPL yet.
Lindelof came in for an injured Phil Jones and the Swede was at fault for two goals within 10 minutes of coming on as he was beaten for the first and completed missed a header for the second.
Sack Races.
Slaven Bilic, Jurgen Klopp, Ronald Koeman, and just maybe Mark Hughes. Bar the West Ham gaffer, all managers are surprisingly in the hat for the next manager who might get the boot out.
West Ham, Liverpool, Everton and Stoke have had near abysmal levels of football this season with the clubs looking to be sinking with every coming week. All four teams were on the receiving end with all three except Liverpool losing their home games this weekend.
Chelsea Get On Track
Chelsea seem to have gotten on the track and where mightily lucky against Watford at Stamford Bridge. The Blues were second best for most of the game and could have lost easily had the Hornets converted glaring chances that were presented to kill the game.
Credit to the Blues however for coming back from a 2-1 deficit to win 4-2 and lift a nervy stadium. Conte can finally take a breather in the revolving circus of if and when his time at Chelsea should come to an end.
