SAD: 100 level student, nursing mother electrocuted in Cross Rivers

100 level student, nursing mother electrocuted in Cross Rivers

A 100 level student of Mechanical Engineering of the Cross River State University of Technology (CRUTECH), Inyang David and a nursing mother who did her baby dedication two weeks ago, were killed yesterday night after a high-tension cable fell on the roof of their building at 14 Adak Uko Street in Calabar, Cross Rivers state.

Residents in the area say the PHCN officials in the area must be held accountable for the sad incident as this wasn't the first time the tension cable would be falling off. They claim that anytime it happens, the PHCN officials would only offer short-term solutions and ask them to go to Port, Harcourt in Rivers state to log further complain.

Sadly, the tension cable fell on the building on Tuesday, caused a fire outbreak that killed the student and the nursing mother. Some residents led a protest to the state government house to demand justice for the deceased persons.
