Reading materials were donated to IDPs by Kebbi lecturer

Dr Ali Mohammed, a Lecturer at the Department of Geology, Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK), has donated reading and writing materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at Dalori Camp, Maiduguri, Borno.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Acting Head of Information and Public Relations Unit of the University, Malam Jamilu Magaji and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
According to the statement, the materials donated to the IDPs were purchased with the money he (the lecturer) realised from the sales of his book, “Introduction to Sustainable Ground Water Management in Nigeria”.
“The lecturer has dedicated the book to the victims of the insurgency in the Northeast.
“The materials which were handed over to the IDPs were part of the proceeds realized from the public presentation of the book.
“Ground Water Management in Nigeria”, a book he authored and dedicated to the IDPs in the State and other insurgency-ravaged states in the North-East,”the statement said.
While addressing journalists shortly after the event,  Muhammed was quoted as saying that his passion was to ameliorate the suffering of the less-privileged.
He expressed optimism that the materials would address some educational needs of the victims of insurgency in the state.
