Mourinho 'Confident Rose Move Will Bloom Soon'
Last month, reports suggested Manchester United's hopes ofsigning Tottenham's Danny Rose had been boosted -- and now the Mail says JoseMourinho "believes he will become United's new first-choice left-back in a£50 million deal."
It reports that the United manager "is increasinglyconfident of landing Rose either next month or during the summer."
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino omitted Rose from his squadfor the North London derby, sparking an angry reaction from the Englanddefender.
And now the Mail says United -- who had hoped to sign him inthe summer -- believe they can do so soon, although "agreeing a deal withSpurs chairman Daniel Levy will be an arduous task."
United are after a specialist left-back having been usingAshley Young in that position, with Luke Shaw struggling to find a way intoMourinho's plans and tipped to leave on loan.
Meanwhile, the Independent reports that United are waitingto see what Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka opts to do in January.
Goretzka, whose deal runs out at the end of the season, hassaid he will decide on his future soon and has been linked with Barcelona,Bayern Munich and Juventus -- but the Independent says there is"increasing speculation over a move to United."
Sterling Stalling On Another Deal?
Reigning European champions Real Madrid have taken a keeninterest in Manchester City starlet Raheem Sterling, according to the Mirror.
The England international has been in fine form thiscampaign, netting nine goals in 13 Premier League appearances for PepGuardiola's side, and still has two years left on his current deal.
Real, however, are said to be making plans for theirpost-Cristiano Ronaldo era and apparently have identified Sterling as areplacement for the Blancos legend.
All talks -- with both City and Madrid -- will have to waituntil after the Russia 2018 though, the paper says, with Sterling wanting toconcentrate solely on football as England's World Cup journey looms.
Emre Can Saga
Juventus could steal a march on their rivals in the race forLiverpool midfielder Emre Can by making a move in January rather than waitinguntil after the season, according to the Mirror.
Germany international Can, out of contract at the end of thecampaign, has been linked with Juve, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
But although he would be able to leave on a free comesummer, Juve want to avoid being caught up in a scramble for his signature.
And the Mirror, citing reports in Italy, says they"hope to persuade Liverpool to sell by paying a 'small sum' now ratherthan waiting for what could be an auction" to develop later.
However, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to keep Can andthe powers that be at Anfield are unlikely to be interested unless Juve's offer"is in excess of £15-20m."
Talks over a new deal for Can have stalled in recent weeks, sparking reports that he could be on the move before long.
