Governor Fayose faults reinstatement and promotion of wanted former pension boss, Abdulrasheed Maina

Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, has reacted to the reinstatement and promotion of wanted former Chairman of the defunct Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina. Maina has been declared wanted for corrupt practices by the International Police Organisation, (INTERPOL) after he was dismissed from office by the Civil Service Commission in 2013 for allegedly committing N2.1 Billion pension fraud while in office. He has reportedly been evading arrest by the EFCC since his indictment. Maina while in office is alleged to paid $2 million cash for an Abuja mansion he bought.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed on Sunday that Maina, who is still on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s, (EFCC) wanted list, was reabsorbed and promoted to the position of Director of Human Resources at the ministry following recommendations from the Office of the Head of Service.
Reacting to the news, Fayose in a tweet shared on his twitter handle, mocked the President Buhari anti-corruption campaign. He wrote “Someone accused of stealing billions of pension fund was returned to the FG civil service and you still think Buhari is fighting corruption?”
