Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, said this on his Twitter page. Recall that Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu accused the group Managing Director of NNPC, Maikanti Baru, of awarding a $25 billion contract without due process.
Maikanti in a statement released later said the two contracts awarded in July had presidential approval. Many Nigerians wondered who granted the presidential approval as President Buhari at the time was in the UK on medical vacation. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo denied granting the approvals. His spokesperson, Laolu Akande, last week released a statement denying that any $25 billion contract was awarded and no $25 billion was missing in the corporation.
